MLA John Ames Honors Dot Larson In Legislature

It’s been thirty years of smiles from St. Stephen’s local crossing guard, Dot Larson.

The 78 year old has been a staple at the St. Stephen Elementary School crosswalk for children, parents, and even grandparents, and today she is being honored for her service and dedication in the New Brunswick Legislature.

MLA John Ames says has has known Larson since he was in Grade 1, at six years old, and she is a shining example of what it means to live life to the fullest.

“She’s somebody that everyone has a great story about and always has a smile on her face, and she certainly exemplifies what it means to be happy and really cherish life. It’s something I think we can all take away from her and use in our own lives.”

Ames says today Dot has been invited to stand in the New Brunswick Legislature and be recognized for her dedication, as well as meet the Premier.

A reception for Dot Larson will be held this afternoon at the Garcelon Civic Center in St. Stephen, beginning at 3:30pm, with a special surprise in store for her. The public is encouraged to come and celebrate.
