More pain at the pumps for New Brunswickers

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but gas prices are once again headed up across the province.

An industry source reports that when the Energy and Utilities Board makes the weekly adjustment, the maximum price of regular self-serve will jump eight cents per litre.

That will bring the maximum to about $1.91.

The news isn’t much better for diesel users, as we can expect a 4.6-cent increase.

It will bring the maximum price for diesel to just under $2.26.

In Nova Scotia, maximum regular self-serve prices currently range from about $1.87 to $1.89 per litre while diesel is selling for between $2.15 and $2.17 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the maximum prices are currently $1.90 a litre for regular self-serve, more than $2.25 per litre for diesel and about $1.67 per litre for home heating oil.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
