The Nature Conservancy of Canada is trying to raise money which will be used to conserve more land in the Musquash River Estuary outside Saint John.
President and C-E-O John Lounds says four projects are in the works including two legacy donations of land.
If all the projects come to fruition, another thousand acres will be preserved in addition to the 5 and a half thousand acres already conserved and protected from future development.
Lounds has said more has to be done to protect wetlands which is nature’s way of absorbing carbon and a lot less expensive to do so.
