Alicia Gabraelle Hunt

January 3, 1986  –  December 30, 2025

It is with broken hearts that the family of Alicia Gabraelle Hunt announce her unexpected passing on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Alicia was born on January 3, 1986, in Halifax, NS to Paul and Sherry Hunt.

Alicia will be sadly missed by her partner John Case and their beloved daughter Adelaide Case, parents Paul and Sherry, sister Melissa Hunt- Marshall (Andrew), grandparents; Madonna and Gordon Cooze, Cyril Duke and Leo Quilty (Susan), Aunts; Lisa Gosling (Earl), Cynthia Jones (Chris), Sharon Quilty, Uncles; Darren Quilty (Sheldon), Michael Quilty (Melissa), Corey Quilty (Pauline), Wayne Hunt (Susie), Keith Hunt (Kelly), and Shawn Hunt (Debbie), great Aunt Marion Bonnell (Ben), sister-in -law Sarah Weaver (Andrew), parents-in-law Robert and Elaine Case, nephew Anderson, special auntie; Heather O’Keefe and, and many cousins, and dear friends. Special fur babies Skittles the cat and Lucie the puppy.

Alicia was predeceased by her uncle Leo Quilty Jr, maternal grandmother Christina Duke, paternal grandfather Michael Hunt, and cousin, Laurie Bonnell.

Alicia lit up every room she walked into, she was vibrant, beautiful, kind, outgoing, empathetic and such a special daughter, sister, partner, mother and friend. Alicia’s greatest joy in life was being Adelaide’s Mommy.

She loved getting together with her friends and family, dancing, cooking, laughing, and enjoying life together. She had a rare gift, no matter how busy life got, Alicia always made time for you. A call, a coffee, a walk, she carved out space because to her, people were what mattered most.

Alicia possessed a very creative and brilliant mind; she was an award-winning animator and had her own art gallery in Saint John. She expressed herself through painting, drawing, working with clay, crocheting, and writing poetry, or sci-fi short stories. Alicia was extremely imaginative and brilliant with her words; she could create entire new worlds in her stories and touch your heart with her poems. During her university studies, Alicia was the Editor-In-Chief of the UNBSJ Newspaper.

Alicia was also known for her love of nature and enjoyed hiking. and camping getting her hands in the dirt. She was always ready for a new gardening challenge; she particularly enjoyed growing orchids and tomatoes. She also found great comfort in the ocean; she enjoyed going to the beach with her family and cooking up a wonderful meal or just sitting by the water. Alicia was a fantastic cook and made the best curries and crepes.

The family would like to thank the Dialysis Team at the SJRH where Alicia had been going since 2021, she loved everyone of you. The family would also like to thank the First Responders, Emergency Staff and Doctors at the SJRH for your tireless efforts to try and save our Alicia.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4th from 12:00 (Noon) – 2:00 PM and a Funeral Service will follow immediately at 2:00 PM at the Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment will be held at a later date.
