Anne Ballantyne Magee

April 9, 1952 ~ April 4, 2026 (age 73)

It is with deep sadness that the family of Anne Ballantyne Magee announce her passing on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Glasgow, Scotland. Anne was the cherished child of the late Hugh and Mary (Molly) Magee.

She leaves behind her sister, Marlyn Isaac; brother Hugh (Evelyn) Magee; special nieces and nephews, Susan Isaac, David Isaac (Melanie), Sarah (Chris) Magee, Alana (Brendan) O’Connor; great niece Allie and nephews Charles and Harvey; Anne will also be remembered by the many friends she made throughout her life.

Anne loved the Beatles and made it very clear she did not love the Rolling Stones. She had a soft spot for Sci Fi, especially the original Doctor Who, Firefly and had a fondness for British murder mysteries. She absolutely adored her nieces and nephews. She also collected jewelry and artwork. She loved her animals with her whole heart and was especially happy when the hospice cat came to visit her, a simple moment that felt so true to who she was.

As a young woman, she embraced adventure, moving from Saint John to Terrace, B.C., where she built a life with her dog and cats and enjoyed life on the West Coast for a few years before returning to the Maritimes. She worked for many years as a Technical Writer for Teledyne Caris.

Anne was brilliant and funny, but above all else, she was genuinely kind, a rare and beautiful quality. The world feels a little less bright without her in it.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3;(506)646-2424; In keeping with Anne’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. For those wishing to honor Anne’s memory, donation can be made to the Saint John SPCA.
