Blake Burgess Fidler

January 5, 1939  –  April 21, 2026

All of the loving family of Blake Burgess Fidler announce his passing, surrounded by loved ones on April 21, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born January 5, 1939 in Minto, NB he was a son of the late Alton Blair and Annie Mabel (nee Foreman) Fidler.

Blake started his career as a bookkeeper and after a short time as an insurance salesman he became self employed in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. He was married for 54 years to Shirley Delilah Hamilton who also lovingly supported him with his business ventures.

Blake loved going for car rides, watching Billy Graham specials and listening to the “Gaither Vocal Band”. He also spent many hours watching the Toronto Blue Jays.

Blake is survived by his brothers, Fred (Eleanor), Dale (Alice); sister, Gloria (David) Peterson; daughter, Heather Fidler; son, Bill (Debbie); daughter-in-law Evelyn Fidler; grand-children Nathan (Kelsey) Fidler, Gregory Fidler, Harrison Wickens, Talli Wickens, and Justice Fidler; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a few cousins.

Besides his parents, Blake was predeceased by his wife, his son Chris and an infant brother, Donald.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where a Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2 PM in Brenan’s Chapel.

In lieu of flowers. For those who wish, remembrances to Diabetes Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, or Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) of NB would be appreciated by the family.
