It is with heavy hearts that the family of Clara Reta Wilcox (Ross) known as “Rusty” to many announce her peaceful passing on May 15, 2026, at the Regional Palliative Care Unit. Clara was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends. Clara was born on June 25,1958 to the late Malcolm Ross and the late Reta Ross (Harris)
Clara is survived by her partner William Hooper (Billy) her sons Doug Wilcox, wife Stephanie Wilcox, Darrell Wilcox (Sherry Calhoun), Darren Wilcox (Mallory Carter), Sister Angela Ross Harris (Wade), Brother Brian Ross, several grandchildren, nieces/nephews, and aunts/uncles.
Clara was predeceased by her brother Greg Ross, in-laws Laura and Lawrence Wilcox, brothers-in-law Jeff and Allison (Shirley) Wilcox, nephew Adam Harris and sister-in-law Sandra Harris.
Clara lived life in her own terms; she showed kindness, loyalty and compassion to all who knew her. She was known for her love of horror films, especially Stephen King movies. She loved anything that had to do with the paranormal. She had love for all animals.
Special thanks to the Nurses and Doctors of 4BN, 5CS, and Palliative Care Unit, for all your support and care while Clara was there.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Visitation will take place on Monday, May 25th, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. As per Clara’s request, there will be no funeral, but we will be having a celebration of life at a later date.
Donations can be made in memory of Clara to the Diabetes Association, SPCA, or the donor’s choice.
