Clare Theresa McCarron

January 19, 1926  –  March 18, 2026

Clare Theresa McCarron, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Laracey) McCarron, departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Clare was born in Saint John where she lived for the better part of her life. She attended St. Vincent High School and St. Thomas University. She was employed as a social worker at the Children’s Aid Society and the Department of Social Services.

Clare was an avid sports enthusiast. In her early years, she enjoyed skating, skiing and horseback riding at Rockwood Park. In later years she took up golf and bowling, achieving considerable skill and pleasure in both sports. Her bowling team, the “Snowbirds”, were the winners for three consecutive years in the annual Lou Vaughan Bowling Tournaments. Clare especially enjoyed her golfing and skiing trips to Myrtle Beach and the Laurentians. Sports aside, Clare loved the arts. Especially music of her own era and the classics. She played the piano by ear.

Clare was a kind and caring person, supporting local charities and hospitals and was a long-time supporter of World Vision. She was a loyal care giver to her parents and other family members. Clare was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the CWL for over 50 years. She served as a board member of the VON and the United Way.

Clare was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Noreen Taylor and Lois Harvey; brother, Joseph and infant sister, Geraldine. She leaves to mourn her brother-in-law, Neil Harvey of Newfoundland; as well as several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.

Clare will be laid to rest at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7425). With visitation on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 9:30 AM with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
