Elizabeth Mary Raynes

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Elizabeth Mary Raynes on Tuesday May 26, 2026, at Bobby’s Hospice with her family by her side. Born in Saint John, on June 26, 1955, Beth was a daughter of the late Lloyd H. Forrest and Mary Viola (MacKenzie) Forrest, and beloved wife to Kenneth J. Raynes for 49 years.

Beth worked for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs as an in-home care provider for 19 years, she also enjoyed Crocheting, Knitting, reading, ice fishing, camping at Cole’s Island where she made many lifelong friends, and Johnny Reid her favorite musical icon, Beth was also a member of the St. John and St. Stephen Church.

Beth spent her last days under the care of the wonderful staff at Bobby’s Hospice.

Beth is survived by her husband; Ken Raynes, of Carter’s Point, two sons, Jason (Alicia) Raynes of Long Reach, N.B., Matthew Raynes of Summerville, N.B., six grandchildren; Brooke, Ashleigh, Brayden, Hannah, Olivia, and Blake, one sister; Sharon Mawhinney, two brothers; Robert (Elizabeth), of Damascus, N.B., and James (Linda) Forrest, of Dutch Settlement, N.S., three nieces, and three nephews, and cousins.

Beth was predeceased by her parents; Lloyd and Viola Forrest (2015), brother – in – law; Hal Mawhinney (2025).

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). There will be no visiting or funeral service at this time. A private family interment will take place in Harding’s Point Cemetery at a later date. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice in Beth’s memory would be appreciated.
