October 1, 1963 – May 3, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen ‘ Kathy’ Heather Lane announces her passing on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Kathy was born on October 1, 1963, in Saint John, NB to the late Robert and Rose (Mills) Whelpley in Saint John, NB.
Kathy will be dearly missed by her sons; Brian Lane (Vanessa) and David Lane, Step- Son Tim Cormier, Partner of 30 years, Gerald Cormier, siblings; Nila McKinnon (Gerry), Grace Langteigne (Orlando), Ann McArthur (Richard) and Bobby Wood (Jennifer) grandchildren; Gabriella Elizabeth Lane, Zoey Heather Lynn Lane, and Waylon Gunther Paul, and several nieces and nephews.
Kathy selflessly stayed home to raise her boys and take care of her family. They created many special memories together over the years; camping at Yogi Bear, Jellystone, Prince Edward Island, Grand Falls and New Denmark. They even went deep sea fishing on her brother-in-law’s boat one summer. She also enjoyed biking at the lake with the boys when they were little.
Kathy treasured nothing more than her grandchildren, she adored spending time with them and always had their best interests in mind. She also liked to knit, crochet and garden.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7th from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Memorial Service will follow immediately in Castle Fallsview Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Kathy’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
