July 16, 2009 ~ August 20, 2026 (age 17)
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Leda Margeret Ann Kuzik on Thursday, August 20th, 2026 at just 17 years old. Beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. Left to bear the weight of this unimaginable loss are her parents Karen Kuzik (Scott MacNeill) and Stephen Kuzik, her sister Sadie Kuzik, her grandparents Edward and Nancy Thorpe, Dennis Kuzik, Beverly and Scott Smith, her uncles Gary Kuzik, Dennis Thorpe, Steven Thorpe (Christine) and her aunt Fern (Rob). She will also be dearly missed by her close cousins and so many extended family members and friends.
Leda had a smile that could light up an entire room. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, valued, and loved. Whether you had known her for years or had only just met her, she had a way of making you feel like you mattered. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine heart left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Above all else, Leda loved her family deeply. She cherished the people closest to her and brought so much love, laughter, and life to their days. She was also a fiercely loyal friend—the kind of friend who stood beside you, celebrated your successes, listened when you needed her, and made ordinary moments unforgettable.
Leda loved being active and competing. She poured her energy and determination into softball, rugby, and basketball, embracing the teamwork, friendships, challenges, and excitement that came with each sport. She was an athlete in every sense of the word, but what mattered most was the joy she found in playing and the people she shared those experiences with.
Music was another constant in Leda’s life. It was almost always playing—filling the house, her room, the car, and every quiet moment in between. Her music was a reflection of her personality: full of energy, emotion, and life.
At only 17, Leda had already touched so many lives. Her time with us was far too short, but the love she gave, the friendships she formed, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will remain forever.
She will be profoundly missed by her family, her friends, her teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile lit up every room. Her heart made people feel at home. And her memory will live on in all of us who loved her.
