Leonard Joseph Vautour

June 21, 1952  –  December 24, 2025

Leonard Vautour passed peacefully in hospital on December 24, 2025. He was born on June 21, 1952, to parents Eva and Albert in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, New Brunswick. In his younger years, he moved to Saint John, where he proudly became a Westsider for life and built his home, family, and community.

Leonard was a sheet metal worker by trade and a true jack of all trades. If something needed fixing, the family often said, “Grampy can fix it.” His woodworking was more than a hobby; it was a gift. He was deeply talented, and his family will forever treasure the pieces he created, many of which remain in their homes as lasting reminders of his care and craftsmanship. Leonard also enjoyed ice fishing and spending time at the local coffee shop with friends, by whom he will be greatly missed.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Beryl; his daughters Tasha (Steve) and Gisele (Ryan); and his beloved grandchildren, who were truly his pride and joy: Aiden, Parker, Eva, and Reed. He is also survived by his brother Louis, his sisters Jean and Jacqueline, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Geraldine and his brother Norman.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their compassion, care, and support during Leonard’s final days.

There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers or a service, those wishing to do so may make a donation to the charity of their choice.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701).
