Lola Brown

May 24, 1936  –  January 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Leola “Lola” Corinne Brown announces her

passing on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

Lola was born on May 24, 1936 in Lower Neguac, NB to the late Amedee and Edna Roy.

Lola will be dearly missed by her husband of 36 years, Bill Brown, her daughters Shelley Little

(Dale), Cindy Getchell (Raymond), and Lisa McEachern (Poma Dhaliwal), step children;

Dwyane Brown (Betty) and Carol Brown, brothers; Mark Roy (Sherry) and Ulysse Roy (Lynn),

10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, and many

nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lola was predeceased by her daughter Patti Jo, brother Norman Roy,

sister Odette Bower.

Lola began her professional career with Kimberly-Clark, working as a secretary for 27 years. She

later transitioned to Saint John Marina, where she worked as a cook until the age of 70. There

she showcased her amazing cooking which she had been sharing with her family for years.

Beyond her professional life, Lola enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Bill. They created

many special memories over the years, namely crab fishing. She also had a love for music and

played the fiddle for several years.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint

John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow immediately at 1:00 PM. Interment will

take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in Lola’s memory can be made to the children’s

wish Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
