May 30, 1935 ~ May 23, 2026 (age 90)
Pauline Christina (Long) Rector wife the late Allan Rector(2025) passed away on May 23, 2026 at the Loch Lomond Village – Cedar House after failing health. Mom was born May 30, 1935 in Saint John West. Losing her Mom at the tender age of 4, her Dad built them a home in Martinon, where Mom and her 11 siblings grew up. Mom went to Ketepec School, Fairville School and Saint John Vocational School.
Mom met Dad at a dance hall at Dolan Lake where many years later they made their home behind the Lake and continued dancing until they were in their 80’s. Mom was a wonderful stay-at-home Mom often babysitting other people’s children to help out and eventually went to work outside the home.
Mom was a true “50’s” housewife. She did everything in her power to make sure Dad came home to a clean and warm house and home cooked meal. Her other loves of course were dancing and bingo. When it was no longer possible to trek out to the various bingo halls, she played TV bingo and was so excited the night she won $2000.
Mom is survived by her daughter Jackie (Hamilton) and son Kim (Huguette) both of Saint John, her daughter Cindy (Ratcliffe) of Alberta. Mom was fortunate to have celebrated 5 generations – starting with 11 grandchildren – Tony(Chantal), Natasha, Andrew(Debra), Jacinda, Billie Jo, Shyanne, Kimberley, Jared, Donnie, Adam and Brandon; 16 great grandchildren – Jordan, Dylan, Abbey, Jonah, Sam, Benjamin, Payton, Owen, Naithan, Gavin, Avery, Aiden, Alice, Devon, Jenna and Kayley, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 step grandchild along with a new arrival to come in the fall. She is also survived by her brother Bobby Corbett (Hazel), brothers-in-law, Mick McAllister, Earl Rector and sister-in-law Grace Long along with many many nieces and nephews. Besides Dad and her parents, Lulu (Porter) and Fred Long, Mom was predeceased by her sons Murray (1978) and Jimmy (2020), grandson Jared (2006), sisters Edith Robinson, Marjorie Williams, Lois Archer, Vera Vadnier, Mary Darrell and Eleanor McAllister, brothers Lee (WWII), Jack, Charles, Murray.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home with service to be held June 1st, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a reception.
