June 30, 1945 ~ April 25, 2026 (age 80)
Robert (Bob) Charles Quartermain passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who truly lived to see the smiles on his grandchildren’s faces. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and his quiet strength and devotion shaped the lives of all who knew him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Margaret (Margie). He is also survived by his children: son Bobby; daughters Kelly Robertson (Donnie) and Courtney Chouinard (Jean‑Guy). Bob was a proud and cherished grandfather to Alyssa, Marlee, Cole, Travis, Ryan, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother Billy, as well as his nieces Sandra and Patty, and his nephew Troy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Doug and Thelma Quartermain; his beloved son Tony; and his sister Nancy.
Bob began his career as a compositor with the Evening Times Globe and later continued with the Telegraph‑Journal. He was fortunate to work alongside his father, his uncle Charlie, and his brother Billy throughout much of his career—something he greatly valued and took pride in. Following the relocation of newspaper production, Bob began a new chapter working at Prince Edward Square Mall as a cleaner, where he formed many lifelong friendships that he deeply treasured.
When not working, Bob enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs with his beloved wife, Margie. A die‑hard Leafs fan, he never wavered in his loyalty—no matter how many playoff appearances were missed. Bob also had a deep love for Rockwood Park. He took Courtney there as a young child and years later shared those same paths with his grandchildren, walking the trails and watching them play. In retirement, he and Marg enjoyed walking the park together, and when walking became more difficult, they continued the tradition by taking peaceful drives through the park, cherishing the memories it held.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, dedication to family, and steady presence will be remembered always.
