December 17, 1968 ~ April 24, 2026 (age 57)
Marilyn Rose Perry, 57, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on December 17, 1968, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Lawrence Goguen and Sandra Cyr.
To know Marilyn was to love her. She had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met—whether it was through her quick wit, her unmistakable grin, or her ability to make people laugh when it was needed most. She lived life on her own terms, with a spirited and strong-willed nature that those closest to her knew well and loved her for. That stubborn streak of hers was simply part of her charm.
Family was at the heart of everything Marilyn did. She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Dooley Thompson (Vanessa) and Kyle Perry (Chelsy), who meant the world to her. She is also lovingly remembered by her step son Jonathan Perry, siblings: David Goguen, Sherry Goguen, Barb Mackey, Kelly Goguen, Ann Earle, and her special sister, Delores; along with several nieces and nephews, and her stepmother, Jackie Arsenault.
Marilyn shared a special bond with her longtime best friend, Angie Gallant and will be fondly remembered by her close friends T Joe Doiron and O’Neil Dugay along with many friends from her Zellers, Irving, and Xerox families. She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved canine companions, Roscoe and Willie.
She found joy in the simple things—especially time spent with those she loved. Marilyn always looked forward to her trips to Nova Scotia to visit her cousin Elizabeth, and to summers spent in Prince Edward Island with her Zellers family, where many cherished memories were made.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her siblings Butch, Johnny, and Anna Marie Goguen, aunts Valarie Belding and Muriel Goguen, cousin Barry Goguen as well as her special friend, Shirley Doiron.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Emergency Department for their care and compassion, and to Rev. David Bowen for sharing meaningful moments with Marilyn prior to her passing.
In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, you are invited to join her family for a time of celebration at Fundy Funeral Home on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM in the reception centre. This will be a casual gathering—just as Marilyn would have wanted—so come as you are and bring your stories and memories. Words of remembrance will be shared at 3:00 PM.
For anyone who would like to attend, Marilyn will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at 9:30 AM. Please meet at the cemetery office at 9:20 AM.
Memorial donations towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
