March 14, 1943 ~ April 25, 2026 (age 83)

It is with great sorrow the family of Roger George Diamond announce his passing on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.  Roger touched the lives of all who knew him with his unwavering devotion to family and his great sense of humour.

He was the beloved husband of Marcella Diamond (nee Ouellette). His loss will be deeply felt by his children Linda (Andrew) Rickard and Michael “Mike” Diamond; by his grandchildren Alaina (Curtis) Rickard, Jonathan (Vicki) Rickard and Alexis Diamond; his great-grandchildren Quinn, Dalis, Liam, Rowan, Kyla, Maria, Bowen and JJ and by his siblings Patsy (Hermel) Ruest, David (Nicole) Diamond, Shirley (Gil) Cyr, Henry (Annette) Diamond, Danny (Martina) Diamond, Janet Diamond, Catherine Diamond and Norman (Manon) Diamond. Many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends will also deeply mourn his loss.

Roger is predeceased by his mother Laurette Diamond, Gordon Diamond and brothers Jack, Douglas, Simon and George.

He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, Marcella and was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a great love for dogs but his greatest joy came from time spent with family. Affectionally known as “Small Papa” by his grandchildren and “Great Papa” by his great grandchildren. His heart was full when he could make all the youngsters around him laugh and giggle.

Roger’s kindness was apparent in his affection for animals, particularly his cherished dogs, and in the strong friendships he fostered within local organizations. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #8364, the Irving Gun Club, and the local ATV Club.

Roger started working at the young age of 14. His first job was on a log drive on the Saint John River. He eventually came to work for the Irvings as a cook at the Johnson Cookhouse in South Bay where he earned the nickname “Cookie”. He moved to other jobs within the Irving company and eventually landed his favourite job as a crane operator for JD Irving Equipment Ltd. He was respected for his dedication and work ethic, taking pride in the projects he helped build throughout the greater Saint John area.

He spent his final year at Loch Lomond Villa, where he received exceptional care from the dedicated team at Elm House. We are deeply grateful to all the staff for their kindness, respect, and compassion toward him.

Roger’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
