William “Butch” J. Madore

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of William James “Butch” Madore, which occurred on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at Shannex-Cohen Hall, surrounded by his loving family.  Born on February 22nd, 1949, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Sherwood) Madore.  Butch was a lifelong mechanic and businessman who took great pride in his work.  Over the years, he owned and operated several businesses including Kanes Corner Irving, Haymarket Square and Loch Lomond Auto Pro.  He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything-especially cars.

He was a stubborn man at times, but he was always hardworking and never gave up.  Outside of work, Butch had a passion for stock car racing at Hammond River, where he was known for car #77.  He also loved Nascar and rarely missed a chance to watch a race.  He enjoyed playing pool and darts, spending time atving and being outdoors.

Butch had a special bond with his dog Holly.  She was rarely far from his side, and he took her everywhere-she meant the world to him.

Butch is survived by his daughters Paula Madore of Saint John, Amanda Flaglor (Tim) of Barnesville, Michelle Sisk (Trevor) of Saint John, Jacqueline Walsh (Daniel) of Sussex; son Nathan Mannett (Christine) of Upper Golden Grove; brother Arthur Madore (Florene) of Saint John; sister Marie Malin (Randall) of Saint John; grandchildren Ryan, Brandon, Taylor, Brendan, Briaunna, Sierra, Arliahna, Kelsey and Leia; great granddaughter Georgia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with his parents, Butch was predeceased by his brother Ronald and his longtime canine companion Holly.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  As per Butch’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A Celebration of Butch’s Life will take place at a later date.  Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
