A record-breaking $230,000 being raised for P.R.O. Kids this year which has helped more than 1200 youth in the community.
Donors and sponsors being officially thanked for their contributions at a packed ceremony at City Hall. Mayor Mel Norton tells CHSJ News this is a very real way in which volunteers in our community, including charities, businesses, and individuals, actually make a difference every day for the children in our community.
Advisory Chair Kathryn Davison says people know this program is a good thing and understand that kids need to be kids. Davison says there are currently 125 children on a waiting list.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart, Rocky’s Sports Bar, the Brian Lund Memorial Fund, Rusty Blades Hockey, and the New Brunswick Children’s Foundation among the many sponsors who were recognized.
P.R.O. Kids is a non-profit that helps youth in Greater Saint John that can’t afford to take part in sports, art, recreation, and cultural activities. For more information about the organization, click here.
