Power Outages Continue After Dorian

The restoration work continues in southern and eastern New Brunswick after Dorian’s wrath on the weekend.

More than 10,000 NB Power customers remain without power as of 1 p.m. Monday. That is down from more than 80,000 customers at the height of the storm Saturday evening.

About 1,000 of those customers are in the Kennebecasis Valley/Fundy region, while fewer than 50 are in Kings and Queens counties.

The utility said more than 140 crews have been mobilized to get people back on the grid.

Nova Scotia, which took the brunt of Dorian, has more than 191,000 customers still without electricity.

In Prince Edward Island, more than 19,000 homes and businesses remain without power.

Schools in Nova Scotia and P.E.I are closed Monday as a result of outages and damages from the storm.
