Strike At Covered Bridge Potato Chips

The cold temperature outside isn’t stopping the employees at Covered Bridge Potato Chips from hitting the picket line.

Patrick Colford is the President of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour, he says the strike started at 6 o’clock this morning.

He says the strike is due to the fact the majority of workers are only making minimum wage and says senior workers aren’t getting called back after layoffs, or receiving their scheduled shifts.

Colford says the company walked way from the negotiating table back in September.

He has hopes the situation will be settled quickly, but if not, they’re ready to stay for the long haul.

Covered Bridge President and CEO Ryan Albright releasing a statement saying all production and business operations will continue without a slip in quality or service.
