International cyclist Ellen Watters has died at the age of 28 in the Regional Hospital.
She was out biking when struck in a collision with a vehicle on Riverview Drive in Sussex and suffered what were described as massive head injuries.
Her family has issued a statement on social media that Ellen no longer had any brain function and was on respiratory support.
Because of the manner of her passing, she’s a candidate for organ donations.
A memorial or funeral service will not be held at this time but at a later date.
Ellen’s family is hoping her death will serve to improve the safety conditions for cyclists on our roadways.
