The University of New Brunswick says Public Health is reporting an infectious disease specialist in Moncton believes it’s not likely that the student on the university’s Fredericton campus who was diagnosed with tuberculosis, was ever contagious.
UNB had said in an earlier statement that the student diagnosed with tuberculosis, who lives in residence, was receiving treatment and recovering well.
Tuberculosis is a curable, preventable infectious disease spread from peron to person through the air.
Public Health is still moving ahead with its investigation as a precaution and UNB will provide updates as they become available.
