With heavy hearts, the family of Barbara Ann Field (Mantle) announce her passing at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10th, 1943, in Saint John, NB, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Weatherbee) Mantle.
During her career, Barb served as a receptionist in several churches and medical offices throughout the province, where she built numerous meaningful relationships with both patients and doctors. She had a genuine passion for her work and cherished the connections she formed along the way.
As a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Barb derived immense joy from her family life. She was also a loyal member of St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s Church, contributing in various capacities, including a Stephen Minister, and she found a profound sense of belonging within the community.
Barb will be deeply missed by her husband of 63 years Dave Field; children Wendy Bauman (Neil) and Stacie Field (Jamie Jack) and her cherished grandchildren Ethan and Jamison. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Field; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Barb was predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Thomas Mantle and sister Ann Reicker.
A special thank you to the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home for your kindness, care and compassion.
