Sharon Louise Dean

June 26, 1945  –  April 29, 2026

With heavy hearts, the family of Sharon Louise Dean, beloved wife of Douglas Dean, announce her passing, which occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 26, 1945, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Percy Hovey and Myrna Mae (Fisher) Hovey.

Sharon was a quick-witted lady who enjoyed having fun. She loved her family dearly. Sharon worked as an RNA at Kennebec Manor and was a human service counsellor at New Directions. She loved horses, drawing, cooking and gardening. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Sharon is survived by her children: Rob Parsons (Kathy), Terry Parsons (Krista), Sherry Raynes (Dennis), Glen Parsons (Krissy), and Devon Dean (Sarah); step-daughter, Vicky VanTassel (Troy); grandchildren: Sarah, Victoria, Jaden, Amanda, Ricky, Amy, Randall, Brandon, Brody, Wyatt and Alisha; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Will, Khloe, Alex, Hunter, Logan, Nya, Adeline, Asher, Greyson, Caleb, Brooksten, and Bowen; great-great-grandson Theo; sister Doreen LeBlanc (Bernard); and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her son, Randy Parsons, and her sister, Bonnie Collins.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2 pm in Brenan’s Chapel.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home, as well as the staff of Saint John Regional Hospital (dementia unit, emergency unit and palliative care) for their kindness and professionalism toward Sharon’s care.

For those who wish, remembrances to Saint John Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
