There is a new agreement in principle between provinces and territories for more open trade.
Premier Brian Gallant says this is great news because New Brunswick’s economy relies on both internal and international trade more than other province.
The new Canadian Free Trade Agreement will promote trade, investment, and support labour mobility across provincial and territorial boundaries.
There is very broad coverage, because unlike previous internal trade agreements, all government measures will be covered unless specifically excluded.
Officials will finalize details over the next few months, and once complete, it will replace the current Agreement on Internal Trade.

The economy continues to be the focus of NBers. All regions of the country need to work together to get our resources to market.
